Metrocable

I have been a bit homesick lately....
This is a drawing of one of the 'comunas' (known in other places as fabelas or slums) in Medellín. In recent years there has been a beautiful social change and they have become a much better place for people to live in. Beautiful libraries and great transportation systems as the Metrocable have been built and are driving this change.

Hola Marcela! I've just discovered your work through the Design Files interview & it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm an ex Glebe resident now in Melbourne & spent 5 months in South America last year, so your work strikes such a chord with me. Next time you're in Melbourne & if you're feeling homesick make sure you check out SONIDO! a cafe on Gertrude Street run by a Columbian couple that has South American coffee, arepas & empanadas, Inca Kola. They also play South America music on vinyl & I manage their micro gallery that features art with a South American focus. The food alone will help cure all homesickness ills!
