Finders Keepers

Kate, Matt and I will be part of the Finders Keepers art room on the 4th and 5th of December. It's a great atmosfere and so many trendy stuff, a great oportunity to get a special christmas gift. All are invited!

My Lucky Card

We just came back from our long vacations. We had a lovely time with family and friends back home and will be hard to get the rithm again.

While being there I got to go to the Hartas Artistas exhibition in Medellín and finally met PowerPaola in person!

Daniel and I bought a card for a raffle.... Even though I never win anything this time we picked the lucky card, 3 of spades, and won an incredible drawing by Juana Newman.

Colombia is back!

I was doing some research in Lonely Planet for a job today and had a nice surprise when I saw the Colombia guide used for a promotional on the home page (Colombia's guide hasn't been very popular in the past years as people think the country is too dangerous to visit).

I got curious and searched for Colombia on the destinations (still in Lonely Planet) and felt SUPER PROUD to find the title 'Colombia is back' and a very nice and true introduction...

I would love my friends to read it and see there is a reason why I can't stop talking about my country.

I wouldn't mind doing this 'From Panama to Colombia... by boat' trip on my next visit which is comming soon, but I suffer badly from motion sickness.

FindersKeepers

I was part of the featured wall at the Finders Keepers markets last weekend. The event was great and there were probably too many people Friday night. I did fantastic in terms of feedback and sales and also purchased beautiful things.

Daniel is always asking me to draw his bikes and it is hard to forget about them as half our unit is for parking.... so here it is! the drawing of Daniel's Road Bike plus extras.

Take a deep breath

This was one of the jobs that kept me very busy in January.
It was made for Calliden Insurance, they insure home, trade, small business, rural, events, sport and motor... quite a lot of work and level of detail...
I publish it just now as brochures and annual reports are rolling out in print. I will get some copies this or next week, can't wait to see them.

T&L

I did some illustrations for Travel & Leisure Australia magazine. It's a cool article that showcases a recognized chef from each state. It has a special recipe from each using highlighted ingredients from the respective state.
I will upload my website very soon and will be adding separate images for a better view.

I did some illustrations for the Good Weekend magazine. It comes with the Sydney Morning Herald every Saturday, and these were for an article on the St. Valentine's issue.

What is Love, actually?

I did some illustrations for the valentine's issue of Notebook Magazine. The full page image is printed on thicker paper as it is one of the separators, so when I opened the mag it was the first thing I saw. Nice! The birds appear on the Index page as well... I love how everything came out printed.

Olympic Kamikaze

Few days ago we went to cycle at the Olympic Park because Daniel is crazy about bikes. These are our sporty friends doing a Kamikaze down hill in a tandem bike!

Sydney Summer

I have been really busy lately even on Christmas but it's summer in Oz so I managed to take a couple of days to enjoy some sunny warm days around the beach. It's really nice to have a swim and snorkel in any of the beautiful bays around Sydney even though water is much colder than in the Caribbean.

Fujifilm

We had a bit of bad luck in Cambodia when our camera stop recognizing the memory card . We lost some photos, had to buy a new card and revisit some temples to take new ones. It all happened in the furthest away temples, one hour away from Siem Reap but even there we were able to find this disposable camera which saved our long trip. I thought I should do a drawing of it to remember it and take something good from the bad experience.

Welcome in Glebe

Weather was great this weekend so on saturday we went to walk around Glebe. We saw the Amex stickers in many windows! Took this picture at "Baja Cantina", the restaurant that recently appeared in the aussie tv show "the Chopping Block".

More welcome in Sydney

About eight months ago I did a job for an American Express campaign in Australia which encouraged people to use the card in local businesses.
A few weeks ago we were having dinner with friends in the 'Nepalese Kitchen', one of our favorite restaurants in Surry Hills, when I looked to the front window and there it was, a sticker with one of my drawings. It's the only one I have seen, luckily it couldn't be in better place ;)

Ha Long bay

More pictures of our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. This time it's a Unesco World Heritage site, Ha Long bay (Descending Dragon bay) in Vietnam.
We stayed overnight and it's very beautiful as the landscape keeps changing through the day.

Ha noi

We are back from our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. We had a fantastic time!
It was great and at the same time tricky to be in a place so similar to back home but with such a different tradition and way of life.
